Richard's Story
Life
After Ledford, I went to the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and earned a BS in Business Administration and then went on to earn an MBA from the Rutgers Graduate School of Business. I went to work for Coopers & Lybrand in New York City and became a Certified Public Accountant. I then spent the next 7 years in the mining industry and then moved on to the maritime industry for almost 20 years. In September 2000 I went to work for a commercial aircraft leasing company headquartered in San Francisco as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President Administration. We sold the Company in June of 2007 and I retired in August 2007. I am now doing some part time consulting work, playing golf and traveling. ave also been fortunate enough to have seen a lot of the world with time spent in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, the Caribbean Islands and almost every country in Central and South America. I am married for the second(and last!) time to a wonderful woman and my best friend and currently reside in Wichita, KS. Connie is from Kansas and is a beautiful and energetic person. I have two children from my previous marriage, Douglas and Kelli. Doug lives in Reno, NV, is married, has 2 children and is Operations Manager for a company that provides staffing to mining industry clients. Kelli is married, has a daughter and is living in Virginia Beach. She and her husband have performed all over the world on cruise ships. She also performs musical theater and sang opera at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.
