Richard's Story
I grew up on the near north side of columbus. More specifically around Oregon Avenue between 2nd Ave and 3rd Ave. I went to Michigan Ave Elementary school and then Everett Jr high. In 1951 I went to Central High school then in 1952 I transferred to Mifflin. I graduated Mifflin High School in May of 1953. In November that year I entered the Air Force and stayed for 22 years, retiring in July of 1975. During my stint in the military I saw a great deal of the world having traveled to Europe and spending 3 years in Germany. I then spent time in Mississippi, South Caroling, Louisiana, and New Mexico. In 65, I went to Vietnam for a small vacation and from there I got to spend time in Thailan...Expand for more
d, Formosa, the Phillipine Islands, then Japan.. Returning to the US I was assigned to the Michigan and from there back to Mississippi. During my time in the military I was a radio operator and then an avionics technician. (fancy word for aircraft maintenance on radars and navigation systems)
After the Military I went to work for Mississippi Power Company as a Power plant electrician and instrumentation technician. I spent 10 years in that capacity and then moved in the training department and worked the last 11 years as a training analyst.
During all this time I had married my childhood sweetie and we have been together throughout. Thats it about me, cant think of anything else to say.
