Richard's Story

What's to say? After High School I went on to College and eventually graduated because I wanted to, not because the state put me in a teen day care center. From there I entered the job market, knocking around a bit but finally realizing that a College Degree and (at that time) $.50 would get you a cup of coffee at Village Inn. So I went for the bucks and the satisfaction. I hired on the Railroad and have been there for 30 years. I moved to Cheyenne, WY to be close to my job (I live 10 minutes away), and have never regretted it. I can retire with a full pension in 4 years. My family is still paramount to me. I have four beautiful daughters and my wife and I are still hot for each other. I met my wife when I was in Romania, Moldova, Ukraine and Germany about 15 years ago. We have been married for 13 years and I am still head over heels for her. Other than that, you can visit the website of my second full time job at Labelle Models. Tanya and I bought the business in 2001. I bought the business when the former owners threatened to shut it down. I built the kits that I now produce when I was a teenager. It is (theoretically) my retirement job. It is actually a second full time job, but that's OK because I get more satisfaction from my own business than working for somebody else. I have too much of my father in me. So let's answer these story Ideas: 1.What about you would surprise everyone at your high school reunion? Probably Nothing. I was pretty outrageous in High School and still am not (to MY great satisfaction) Politically correct. 2. Which teacher would you love to see again? Why? Ruth Nugent, because she was so vibrant a personality, Rosa Heath (from Jr. High) because she was just a plain nice woma...Expand for more
n. Liz Loney, because she was more kid than adult, and I hope she still is. Lynda Wilt, because she died too young. 3. What's the wildest thing you ever did in school? Besides climbing on the roof of the school in front of the Vice Principal, showing up drunk to Mr. Klahuwn's Physics class, riding a library cart down the halls, hiding out in the light booth, and having Dr. Armistead threaten to kick me out of school, Nothing. 4. What happened to your first crush? I don't know, I haven't seen her since second grade. Heck, I had lots of crushes in my life. I wonder what happened to my first love and my second love and all of the rest that I've fallen for. 5. How do you hope old friends remember you? Old Friends? Fondly, as I remember them. As for mere acquaintences and old adversaries, I really don't care, because to care would be to give them some meaning in my life. 6. To be truly happy, you would be where, doing what, with whom? I wouldn't change a thing. My life has unfolded more wonderfully than I expected. Many of my old cronies are dead. I am truly lucky to be here and my happiness is in that. 7. Life doesn¿t always turn out the way you expect. What¿s been your biggest surprise? Having Children at 52 years old 8. You get one do-over. What do you do differently? Not a damn thing. I like who I am. 9. What¿s the weirdest job you ever had? Sales for a Metal Products Company. There was no satisfaction no matter how hard you tried. It was depressing. I liked working on a loading dock better. 10. Where have you lived? Why did you move? After leaving Broomfield, I've lived in Grand Junction, Central City, Silver Plume, Longmont, Thornton, Greeley and Cheyenne. Most of the moving was job related.
