Rick (Richard)'s Story
Short story (for those who know me - this is a challenge)
... I have been a principal of Christian schools (6) for 30 years now. 27 in FL and 3 in central Virginia. Currently 2009-10 I am on the S.E. FL Treasure Coast in Stuart, FL. Married in '80 to Patti and we have two grown boys. Ricky is a 2nd gr teacher and Randy works in Orlando for Hard Rock Corp in the memorbilia dept. doing whatever Rock-n-Roll "theme" installs for their hotel/casino facilities in the US and occasionally overseas.
Not grandparents yet, just doing the empty nest thing right now. By end of summer 2010 we should be relocating back to the west coast of Florida .... somewhere as the Lord leads.
To those at Pinckney HS - those 4 years were some of the best memories of my early life. First time I had EVER stayed in a school district for more than one year. So many friends and great times. Finally coming back for a few reunions in Pinckney was a real treat. Here's hoping we have # 40 in 2014.
To those at my first school Grace Christian, Hudson - a phenominal 13 years of growing that school from the beginniings ...Expand for more
of just 14 little kindergarteners and experiencing so many "firsts" during those exciting years. Class of '87 was our first senior class and always special - but the next 6 all had their own special place in my heart. I still have EVERY years book and pray through them many times for all of those hundreds of students who came through those halls.
To those at Community Christian in Port Charlotte - GO MUSTANGS! Where my family grew, the boys went to school and we developed such great friendships for 11 years. Again growing a HS, all of those students and alumni, our first seniors in '99 and each special class including Ricky's 2002 and Randy's 2003 - and then the "surprise" graduation '04 commencement where I got to shake every senior's hand after they received their diploma - that took 'em all by surprise and was such a special gift of appreciation to me.
