Rick's Story
Life
Married with three kids- born in 2001, 2003 and 2005. We are active at FBC Katy. I'm working for a Scuba Shop (been there 17 yrs), I've been in the Houston area since 1990 though I visit DFW as often as I can. I'm looking for old friends. Any old friends from FBC Joshua contact me too.
School
I will never forget Mr. Hughes. -hey, you still have my fossilized oyster from jr. high!! Mail it to me... and Mrs. Kretzschmar.
Biggest crush?-Too many to list. I was too shy to ask most girls out-figured they would say no anyway. I did always want to ask out one of the Waldrop girls. Neva was my favorite but they were both cute. I also had a crush on Brandy, and wish things were not left as they were with Christine.
College
After starting college during high school with Hill Jr. college at Joshua High school at night, I went to San Jac in '88. I transfered to San Jacinto College in Houston after moving there in 1990 and received my AA in Biology. I started UH Clear Lake in the Legal Studies program where I remain a Senior. Someday I will finish!!!
Workplace
Jack of all trades and master of none. I have had a lot of jobs!! Starting with Braums and Huguley Hospital back in High school. I went to Eckerd's Express Photo and then to Revco drug stores after High school and...Expand for more
during early college. After moving to Houston I worked in the mall at an Art store called The Art Works. I got hired by a Scuba shop, Diver Paradise, which I have worked either full or part time with them for the last 17 years. I worked at a Mothers Day Out program for awhile with a girlfriend/fiance, tried UPS flight ops but hated the hours. Went to Best Buy in Clear Lake and ran into some people from Joshua. Left there to manage one of the Scuba shops-Turtle Divers. I then went to work at the Houston DEA HIDTA Major Drug Squads for a few years. I left there and did a stint at Al's Formal Wear's corporate office and Mgmt. for CiCi's Pizza (thought I wanted to own one). I finally settled at Westside Lexus in Houston for a few years. After that I took almost a year off before joining an Actuarial Firm where we administered companies 401(K) and retirement plans. Early 2008 I left my Actuarial job and did a temp. stint at US Bank corp office in Houston and worked part-time at Home Depot. In Sept. I started down a new career path with Foster Wheeler, an engineering firm in the oil & gas industry. My dream is to start my own Scuba shop near my home but I need the raise the funding first.
Military
Never served-my Asthma disqualified me. I live off my dad's Military Career.
