Rick's Story
Life
I settled in New Jersy just outside New York City. I moved to this area in 1988 and found it quite open with opportunity. I have been lucky and things have worked out pretty well overall.
School
Grade school was a very difficult time. I went to too many schools but in the end I got through it. I moved around quite a bit and eventually got tired of going to so many schools and and dropped out and went to work in fast food, Wendy's. Good burgers but the pay is a little on the meager side.
College
I went to college at night and worked full time during the day. That was a lot of fun. The only improvement would have involved some sort of physical torture. I met a lot of great people during college and many were motivated to improve their lives and get smarter. I would like...Expand for more

Workplace
Working is something that we (most of us) must do. I feel lucky because I like what I do. I work at a broker-dealer, same place for 8 years, as an attorney and handle different compliance and legal issues. I work at a major equities trading firm on wall street. The job is never dull.
Military
I would have done it no other way. I had a great time. I went from high school straight to Italy and got to travel Europe. I also got to see and experience cultures in Central and South America. There were some rather annoying days but overall it was a terrific experience. I got to meet lots of different people and at times I wonder how many of them are doing.
