Rick's Story
It is funny to think that HS ended 26 yrs ago. Boy has time flown. Funny thing is that I did not set foot in FTHS again till this past January. For what ever reason, I had to get a copy of my HS transript, and I had to go to the school since they only had it on mircofiche(how is that for feeling old). It was quite an adventure, I walk into the school , and who is the first person I see, but Mr Warner, looking much the same as when I left in 1982.
After HS, I went on to finish college at Arizona State University, after a year in Florida. Progressed to get my master's from UNC, then went to Physical Therapy School. I sort of gravitated to the sports side of rehabilitation and ended up being named the head athletic trainer for the US Soccer Federation in 1994. Have been so many places, I ca...Expand for more
n not name them all, but highlights have included being with the US team for all of qualifying for the world cups in 1998, 2002 and 2006 and accompanying the team to the World Cup in 2006, being with the gold medal winning Women's soccer team at the 2012 summer olympics in london, visiting just about every country in cental america, south america, and europe and numerous other adventures.
I have actually yet to work a day in my life, and have been blessed/fortunate to have found something i am passionate about! i wish that for everyone.
Life is such a great oppurtunity, and i am so happy that i have been able to experiece all that i have. So many folks when presented with change, avoid it, i tend to embrace it, since what is the worst thing that can happen, you go back to what you were before.
