Rick's Story
Well half way through 11th grade I asked, "Without summer school or night school how long would it take me to Graduate?" I was told 4 years. So on Oct 20,1981 I was in Navy Bootcanp. I was still only 17 years old. I spent 7 years and 4 days in the Navy as a Aviation Electrician.
I got married shortly after I had reenlisted to a blond haired, green eyed Italian, Irish, girl I met at my cousins graduation in Bend, Ore. She was one of my cousins best friends. The night of the graduation I put my arm around her shoulder and told everybody, "Jody and I are going to elope." Nine months later we were married. We were divorced 3 years later.
Anyway I became one of lifes travelers. I held job...Expand for more
s in construction, casino main banker, sports bar prep cook, and even tried my hand at stand up comedy. The later job was by far the toughest job I ever had.
In 1995 I moved back to Salem, Oregon to run my fathers gutter business. That lasted until my dear old dad sold the business and my tools. He told me about it the next day. Just gotta love family. Wait, no you don't.
In 2005 my ex-wife and I tried getting back together. Now that was a mistake. I won't go into that at this time.
I have stayed in the Construction/Maintenance field or better known as a handyman. That is until this economy pulled the rug out from under me. But what the hell, you got to keep smiling and never give up.
