Rick's Story
Life
Ok, heres my tale:
Left Warsaw after freshman year, and went to Lexington HS for 2 years. Moved from Lexington, MO to Gardner, KS right before my senior year, and was quite pleased about that.
After grad, enlisted in the Navy, and became a Submarine RM/ET (Communications Electronics Technician). Was stationed in Florida, Connecticut (where I met Corinne) and Hawaii. I made 2 Western Pacific deployments (WestPacs). My first was while stationed aboard the USS Aspro (SSN 648), where we visited Yokouska (Japan), Apra Harbor (Guam), Hong Kong (man-talk about fun!), and New Caledonia (French Colony 900 miles NE of Australia). was while I was aboard the USS Olympia (SSN 717). We visited South Korea, Okinawa, Yokuska Japan and Guam. You know the best thing about Japan and Guam? Leaving
After I left the service, my wife, Corinne (married in 1995) and I settled in San Diego, CA. We lived there for 9 years, and had two kids while there (Katrina, born in 2002 and Shaymus, born in 2004). In summer of 2005, we left SD and went all the way back to Rhode Island, where we live today. And that question you have: family. Why else would someone leave SD?
I am currently a consultant working on Submarine Communication projects, and make banjo parts on the side. (Long story).
