Rick's Story

Life For those who don't remember me, I transferred to Everett High my Junior year... (Mr. Abbott booted me) I suppose I was somewhat of a trouble maker as a kid! I have a son, Kris who was born in 1984, and he will get his Phd. in 2013. Latest hobbies: motorcycling, hiking, skiing, scuba diving, traveling. I'm currently working on climbing to or visiting the high point in all the U.S. states, I've done 45 so far. If anyone knows Julia Gay (Joines) email, let me know! (She was my neighbor, and went to Alcoa also...) Her brother Steve was also my pal... (we lost him in an accident a few years back) PS. I have a little blog at houstonguy.blogspot.com Mostly it has my hiking adventures. If you ever visit it, PLEASE post a little note while you're there and let me know! School The thing I miss most about High School is BAND, (yeah Roy Holder) My pal Larry Stinnett, and I wonder how some of the girls I liked (and never told most of them) look now days! Some of my other pals were: Kaye Carrol, David Staley, David Porter,oh, and Sam(mule) Tipton (remember cruising and listening to Pink Floyd?) Barry Heaton, Tricia O'Neal, (the trumpets ruled) OH, and, Jazz band, Leonard Ervin could play the heck out of the trombone... and was I the only one who thought Jennifer Karnowski was gorgeous? Definitely the best looking fluegelhorn (sp) players I ever saw. Also kudo's to my pal's from Everett and Eagleton Jr., Myron Tipton, Rhonda Phillips, Ricky & Ronnie, Cathy Sawyer, Mr. Hicks and Carole Fisher. Myra Minteer; And if you knew him, you have to wonder what Mike Frye is doing these days. Is i...Expand for more
t true that Debbie Campbell married Ronald or Donald McDonald? Ronald was going to KILL me once, in a parking lot fight at AJHS. The fight was broken up, thank god, before it happened. Debbie was officially my girlfriend for a year or so, until she found out I streaked past Alcoa swimming pool wearing just a mask. (hey I was wearing a mask, how did she know it was me?) I still can't believe it. That was no reason to break up, was it? .....and my biggest crush of all time was my neighbor, but, I was too OLD for her (sigh) or maybe just not her type :). I won't post her name, as to avoid embarassing her. Some things we never forget.... (JGJ) College I did only one semester at UT, and wasn't really ready for college at that point. I picked up a few more classes at University of Maryland while in service. I finally buckled down at thirty, and got a degree from North Harris College in Houston in Computer Programming and a minor in business. Military I joined the Army in 1976, and went to boot camp at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missour. Did four more months training at Shepherd AFB, Texas, via Fort Sill. Spent almost four years in Germany, with Company B, 79th Engineers, traveling all around Germany building things. Spent my last 4 months of service in Augusta, Ga, at Fort Gordon, and was a Sergeant when I got out. I started my own company in 1987 in Houston, a fire alarm and security system firm. I currently have 14 employees. In 1994 we were #27 in the fastest growing privately owned companies in Houston. I'm currently single, so email me with some leads of eligible gals over 50, please!
