Richard's Story
From LuHi '65, surfed the California coast that summer. Enlisted Oct '65 US Air Force - Viet Nam days - was a Physiological Training Specialist (worked with altitude chambers, O2 equip. and survival skills. Then worked for Grumman Aerospace'69 - helped build the LEMs which landed on the moon.
Aug. '69 moved to Honolulu to attend Univ of Hawaii Manoa. BA '72 with honors, MA '75 Geography (resource management). Spent part of each day surfing. Summer '75 Seasonal Park Ranger - Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

, and executive director of a private foundation the Hawaii Heptachlor Research & Education Foundation. Active in environmental issues in Hawaii - Chairman of Conservation Council for Hawaii for eleven years, contracted Administrator of Ahahui Malama i ka Lokahi - a Hawaiian conservation organization doing ecosystem restoration projects in Kailua, Oahu.
Married in '79, spouse Renee, two great adult children Ryan and Rayna. No grandchildren yet. One grand dog Lexie. We live in Honolulu fairly close to the B.P. Bishop Museum.
Enjoy photography, growing and planting native Hawaiian plants, travel, old rock 60s-70s. Looking at cutting back the work hours come 2015.
