Rick's Story
Someone sent me an email and I happened to be cleaning out some stuff when I came across my HUHS senior tshirt. It took some effort as you can probably tell but I got that sucker on. And now, the moment you've all been waiting for...my story.
I joined the Army during our senior year and left for basic training in July. I was stationed in Germany for 3 years and then I got out and came back home to Hanford. .
We went to Ft Lewis WA in Tacoma and were up there for 6 years. Then I went to Korea for a year, Denver for 3 years, Petaluma, CA as an Army recruiter for 3 years and then to Ft Bliss TX in El Paso.
I retired in 2003 and we decided to stay here in El Paso. The weather is great, the cost of living is great, and we were tired of moving.
My oldest son, James, lives in Dallas. Michael got married and is a police officer here in El Paso. Alex, our youngest is in the Army now and stationed in Germany.
Now I own a real estate brokerage and Suzy is the office manager at a motorcycle dealership. The kids are all gone and we are enjoying getting to know each other again. April is our 25th anniversary.
That's the scoop.
