Randy is my 18 year old, he is due to graduate from Bruton High School in june 2010. He was sporting around on a new bike until he crashed and ended up with a totaled bike and broken jaw. he tearing up he streets in his 77 Nova SS and the never ending process of restoring it. When I was in high school I dreamed of owning a fast car, I guess I am living that part of my dream through my son. I feel so proud when he drives by, we have bonded so much while working on this car. He has a heart as big as Texas and is hard as nails.
Brian is my 24 year old son. He has been married for a year and his wife Sarah just had a second beautiful baby boy named George and he joins his older brother Joshua. Brian is due to graduate this summer from BYU rexburg, Idaho with a major in ligature. He is a fantastic son and loving father and husband.
Marriage:
No thank you, I have been a single father for a long time and have no plans in the future of marrying again. Of course women friends are always welcome ;)
My life after high school:
I joined the US Navy just four days after graduation from Cass High school in 1979, I attended boot camp in San Diego, Ca. and then became a Heavy Equipment Operator in the Navy Seabees. I really enjoyed my military service and was truly blessed by being able to serve for over 22 years with some of the most colorful characters on the face of this planet. I achieved one of my goals of becoming a Chief Petty Officer; I grew so much as a man and as a citizen through the mentorship of my fellow Chief's. I traveled to and lived in many places I never knew existed. My favorite places are, Puerto Rico, Alaska, Phi...Expand for more
lippines, Hawaii, Guam, Cuba, Japan, New Zealand and Antarctica. I never regretted my decision of joining the service.
On September 11, 2001 I was near the Pentagon, training military personnel on a new DOD logistics program when we received word about the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. We drove to the crash sight at the pentagon and witnessed first hand the aftermath of a cowardly attack. I spent the next five years working on programs designed to take the fight to our enemies and destroy them. I am proud of the men and women that I trained and served beside.
I advanced in the ranks achieved many wonderful accomplishments and felt secure in my position. As the war progressed, the budget became tight and I was laid off from a dream job with Lockheed Martin. This was due in large part to having no college degree. On a job interview it was pointed out to me that I had a fantastic resume, but I needed a college degree. I began to look at my accomplishments and realized that this should be a priority to me. When I was offered the job I turned it down and told the hiring manager that I was taking his advice and going to seek out a college degree. I had enough savings so I decided to take a few years off from work and go to school.
After three years and 99 credits later I settled on a career and graduated with an Associates degree in Information of Technology (Cum Laude) and have been accepted at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. Currently I am not sure if I should attend or work on my CISCO Certifications.
Currently I am working at Thomas Nelson Community College as a Professional Instructor/Trainer and IT Specialist. I enjoy my interaction with students and faculty; it provides me with a lot of enjoyment.
Nothin else has changed I guess.
