Ricky's Story

Life If you do a websearch for Dr. Rick Kirschner, you will find lots of info on my 9 books (including an international bestseller, 11 audio and video programs, and speaking career.) I also have a picture gallery archived (along with old music and humor) at TalkNatural. Classmates doesn't allow us to tell more directly that these are dotcom sites. My personal life: Married to Lindea, an Oregon gal who I adore, one child, Aden, now 32 years old, returned from two years teaching in S. Korea and moved to Austin Texas, where she is a salaried writer for an educational software company, until last year was a lead singer in an all girl rockband, and is currently performing in improv and sketch comedy groups and has a late night TV show. My mother passed away this year. My father, brother and sister all continue to live in the greater Cincinnati area. I've been in Oregon for a very long time (went to a 4 year medical school here, NCNM.edu, and graduated in 1981 as a Naturopathic physician (N.D., something you don't have licensing for in Ohio ... more's the pity for people looking for health in their healthcare through a credible medical alternative to drugs and surgery, you can learn more at Naturopathic dot org) Since 1982, I've lived in a small yet internationally recognized town called Ashland, just north of the California border. (We have the oldest Shakespeare theater in the U.S., and our park was designed by the same guy who designed S.F's Golden Gate Park.) 1980s, had a bestselling audio and video on 'Ho...Expand for more
w To Deal With Difficult People.' 1994, first book, 'Dealing with People You Can't Stand,' now international bestseller, in 20 languages. 2005 marked the release of my fifth book, 'Love Thy Customer,' and was the year I got a training engagement with NASA! As a fan of space exploration and science fiction, getting to work with the people who hold our space future in their hands is an awesome experience. 2007, I got 2 more books written plus an audio program on The Insider's Guide To The Art Of Persuasion: Use Your Influence To Change Your World. I made the national press for a project with my local city council, and I secured a book deal with Hyperion Press (that's Disney's label), book will be out in 2010, titled 'Click.' 2008, big projects include working with the government of Trinidad on a reform project, working on the book, and blogging! Yes, I'm now part of the blogosphere! I post fresh content three times a week, on change, conflict resolution and persuasion, and have kept that pace going for 9 months. 2009 Finished writing Click, continued blogging three days a week, put energy into my coaching and counseling practice (TalkWithRick dotcom) Tough year in that both my Mom and a very close friend passed away and several others got serious illnesses. Upside is that I've enjoyed my life, my wife, my home and community more this year (slow economy, less travel) than any year before. Don't know if you remember me but if you do, say hello, or contact me directly. Rick at theartofchange dot com
