Ricky Marks:  

After high school I went into the Army. Was trained as a Construction Engineer but worked as a company clerk for most of the first 6 years of my first tour. After 6 years I got out for 6 months then went back in 1980. I got to spend 2 tours in Germany, 1 in Korea, deployed to Hungary for the Bosnia operation and spent 2 months in Honduras helping build a tactical airfield. In 1982 I married a girl I met in Germany. In all I spent 23 enjoyable years in the Army reaching the rank of Master Sergeant. Half of my military time I sent in offices - Company Clerk, Sipply Sergeant, Operations Sergeant and Enginner Staff Operations Sergeant the rest as construction ewuipment operator, squadleader, section sergeant, and platoon sergeant. After retiring in 1997 I spent 2 years remodelling our House in Washington state. We moved to Oregon and worked for a private software training company for 5 years. We moved back to Fort Wayne in 2006 and bought a house that I have been remodelling for the last 2 years. If this next section sounds like I'm rambling on it is because I'm kind of following the layout of the "Story Wizard" I hope I'm remembered as a good person by my friends and fellow classmates....if they remember me! The wildest thing I can recall doing while in highschool was skipping school and playing poker with some fellow classmates and losingall my money. I think I was to shy to do many things in school.I don't remember what I wanted to be growning up but I think I could have done anything and done it well. My father was good at doing many things. He built the house I grew up in so I think I got a lot from him. I had to do lots of different things in the Army! I do like change, I don't know if I would like a job doing repetitive work. I get bored easily so I like to do projects around the house but I also like to be a couch potato at times too. I never made it to a class reunion (if there was one) so I would like to see all my classmates. There are a few classmates that I remember that I would like to see because they they were good friends even if they didn't know it. I think my biggest surprise was that I liked the military and did such a great job at everything I did while there. I would never had thought I could end up being an Army instructor when in school I hated having to be in front of people I seen everyday. The weirdest job I had was Company Clerk.
