Rick's Story
Life
I am a singer and musician performing with Fiddlin' John Carson Productions. We host the Atlanta Society of Entertainers Awards and the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame both of which I am a member being inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1996. I was voted 2008 ASE Entertainer of the Year. I helped create the Second Reunion Band in the mid 80s. I played with The Holidays Band for several years. I also played in Mike Watson's Band and a short time with Jerry Fagan. In January of 2009 I received the Legends Award and Band Award from the Carolinas Country, Bluegrass and Gospel Hall of Fame in Rock Hill. N.C. l of Fame at the Georgia World Congress Center honoring the induction of John L. (Johnny) Carson. I am now the newest member of Los Pistoleros, a western gunfight reenactment stunt group.
School
I was the first student at Towers to take a summer course to become an Athletic Trainer. Bob Smith and I were the first Student Sports Trainers that Towers had.
Workplace
I really enjoy music. In the last few years we have raised over $2,500,000 for various benefits. Fiddlin'John Carson was the "Father of Commercial Country Music" recording "Little Log Cabin in the Lane" on the OKEH label in 1923 selling 500,000 copies. This was the first recording of country music.
