Riki's Story
Life
I came to Kansas in 1983. I graduated from South High and then did a short stint in the Marine Corps. After I came back to Wichita, I drifted for a little while until I met someone in 1989. I was married for 6 years and have 2 beautiful daughters (Jordan - 15, Jessica - 12). They're both very smart and musically talented. Jordan hopes to have a career in music, most likely teaching. Jessie has a great, natural talent for music but she could care less...or so she says. Anyway, I'm proud of both of them and look forward to seeing the adults they become. As I said, that marriage ended, but my ex and I get along great. We talk all the time and even go together for parent/teacher conferences, sit together during school activities, etc. I believe this has helped with the girls being so well adjusted...Expand for more
in life. So, as of 1997, I have been single. I began working at Wichita State University in 1995 and a couple years ago I enrolled in some classes and have been working on a degree in Creative Writing. I have written some children's books and one of them is in the works to be published. More recently in my life, I have been dating a wonderful man that I met in my first class 2 years ago. We kept running into each other after the class was over and he finally asked me on a date earlier this year (2007). We've been dating ever since and are very happy together. David is a kind, thoughtful, compassionate man who puts my happiness first. He's fun and smart and we just have such a good time when we go out. Besides being a full time student, David helps teach an EMT class, and he's a volunteer fireman.
