More about Rita:"I am righting this because I lost my sweet Meghan to sepsis 2/23/10. I am living in hell with all of the should or could of`s. She was 13 to be 14 May 14th she had such a bright future and now it is all gone. She was in a car accident brought to the hospital and examined. She had a lacerated spleen and they suggested I take her to Children’s hospital in Boston. For observation. NUTHING TO WORY ABOUT!! So we took her by ambulance we got there at about 4:30 in the morning on Sunday . When we got there they took a look at the scan and found she also had a lacerated kidney. I held her hand and knew she had a fever, she always had could hand. So I told them to check it for me, and she did have a fever. So they started testing her blood. They kept giving her morphine. urine output and she had an IV. It was also very brown. Later that day she started to have blood in her urine. Every time I asked a question they told me it was normal. I was told nothing to worry about. So after not sleeping for 2 days I slept on the floor next to my baby. I told the nurse to wake me if there was any change in her blood work. I woke up to nurses telling me she was having a hard time breathing and was very despondent. I asked the nurse how her blood was she actually told me funny different. WOW it floored me. I went to talk to Meghan and asked what was wrong she told me she could not see me, I told her I loved her and she sad I love you too. And passed right before my eyes. They called a code blue and it took them a long time to get her back, she died two more times in the ICU, finely they took her to surgery and found her bowels had rub shred and it would be a good 24 hour waiting period. She kept going into cardiac arrest and shortly after midnight her hart could not take it and they stopped trying. Her little chest was so black and blue from all the CPR. I WAS SO TIERD AND DEVICTATED. I kept asking why they did not to laparoscopy on her and I got no answer.This is our story.Meghan and me and I would love to do something in her memory.".
