Rita's Story

I did not graduate with my class but went on to get my GED and had a career in nursing for 20 years. I married in 1971 and had 3 daughters and 2 stepdaughters by that marriage. My first husband and I divorced in 1991 and I married the love of my life Steve Johnson in 1992. we have a wonderful life, we are foster parents and have adopted 4 children our oldest adopted son is in the Marines and leaves for Afganistan in February...presently we have our 20 year old daughter 13 year old daughter and 14 year old son at home as well as 4 foster children 6 year old twins their 3 year old sister and 11 month old sister they have been with us this time since the baby was 4 months an we hope to adopt them...we have 21 grandchildren and are going to have our 4th great grandchild in January...we love chichihuas and have 6 and one just had 4 puppies NO we do not breed them we rescue them, we also have two older dogs and 2 cats and 1 bird a macall. we bought a queen anne style home in 2006 and have worked very hard restoreing it. Our home and our family are our life! I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a wonderful idea. As it turns out, they were right. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Bruce Burklow, because when we moved here when I was in 7th grade he made me feel welcome, turned out he was distant family but we did not know that. We love the Alanta braves, we attend their games whenever we get the chance...I love the biggest loser...guess cause I'm big myself and I know what their are going through my obses...Expand for more
sions would have to be that I'm a neet freak! The biggest surprise in my life would have to be when I reconnected with Steve and we were married. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my kitchen and add on a larger family room. My dream home would be Robin Hill it was offered to us but we had just bought this house... :-(. If I won $100 million, I'd give 1 million of it to PAAWS, then spend the rest on us,our children, grandchildren and extended family.. Being truly happy would be doing what i'm doing right now, my husband family and pets are my life!!! My current age is 56. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be old. I was so completely wrong. I am married to my first crush!!!for 18 wonderful years now. My best friend would tell you I'm a fun loving person, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as somewhat quiet. in school I was very backward and with drawn...today i am pretty out going I would like to say that I have been in love with Steve since I was 12 years old...needless to say ihe joined the Marines straight out of high school and spent two years in viet nam. Unfortunately i married in 71 and he came home in 72... I never really knew what happened to him, even living in this small community but at that time I lived on a farm way out in the country. It wasn't until 1988 that we ran into each other again, we both divorced he in 1989 and myself in 1991. we have been together ever since. :-)) Oh yes and one more thing my husbands name is Stephen Harrison and my brothers name is Stephen Harrison...how cool is that!
