Rita's Story
Life
I grew up on Markham Street with 2 brothers Tom('66), Jon('69) and a sister Nina ('71). My parents ran the Chinese laundry on Forest Glen Road next to Jack's. I remember no Capital Beltway, the Fairway Pharmacy and a small grocery store. Does anyone remember it? I believe we may have been the only Asian family at Four Corners Elem. My husband, Jennings, and I live within sight of the old/new Northwood. Currently, I am working for MCPS at White Oak Middle School (Silver Spring). I spend most of my day troubleshooting our computer network, installing software and providing technical support to end users at the school.
School
Working for MCPS, it's amazing how many Northwood teachers were still teaching when I started. I think there are many classmates teaching in the system.
