Robert's Story
Well hello there fellow classmates...
How has your life and experiences been since grad night June 1983 prior to being ejected into the real world?
Here is my story....
1983 - 1992 School of Hard Knocks and The Roller Coaster of Life -bounced around from job to job between BC and Ontario while dabbling in as much as I could (good, bad or?)... Took many small courses that interested me in Canada and USA.
1992 - 1994 Military (Navy).
1994 - Commissionaire and Sworn Peace Officer City of Victoria (Bylaws)
1995 - Marine Emergency Duties (BCIT)
1996 - Married (Wife Anne)
1997 - Moved to Vancouver working as a Dog Handler (private firm)
1998 - Sworn Peace Officer, City of North Vancouver (Bylaws)
2000 - 1st Child (Son - Riley).
2001 - Opened my 1st business in BC
2003 - 2nd Child (Daughter - Brynn).
2005 - Found out my son has Duchanes Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) Google it if you don't know what it is... Surely was an eye opener for me.
2009 - Closed my 1st business (176 employees) and went to work for a US firm running their Canadian Operations. Provided Explosives Detection Teams for the 2010 Olympics and had 17 Explosives Detection Dog Teams in Afghanistan with (ISFA Canadian Contract) and included another 8 support members to the team.

3 - Opened my 2nd business in BC with a former retired member of the RCMP.
2016 - Expanded business operations to Alberta. Invited to (and attended) the NATO conference in Luxembourg.
2017 - Currently employing the largest private K9 Unit in Western Canada (24 Teams) and looking at future canine team growth globally. Over and above the K9 Teams we employ another 250+ security personal in BC & Alberta while continuing to grow all divisions of the company.
2018 - Got back into riding motorcycles after a loooooong time off two wheels.
2020 - Sold my company shares to my business partner to take some much needed time away from an industry I enjoyed working in. Tore down our home of 18 years and started a new build to suit our needs and the needs of our sons medical condition.
2021 - Moved into the new house and decided to change careers, so started training as a Class 1 truck driver and a few other small related certificate courses.
2022 - Achieved my unrestricted Class 1 DL and started Over The Road between Vancouver/California/Alberta and a few off shoots. I am driving mostly local and the BC interior since mid 2022.
And life goes on one day at a time...
