Rob's Story
Life
Let's see...
Married in 1980. First son born in 1981. Second son born in 1982. Third son born in 1986. Divorced in 1987. Was single father to 3 boys. That attracted the women!
Remarried in 1989. Moved from Kingston to Ajax in 1990. Third son born in 1991. Divorced again in 1996. Again, I got custody. Now single father of 3 boys. The women keep leaving me, but leaving the kids! Must be a better father then husband! But since third time is a charm...
Remarried in 1999. No kids. Got fixed after the second marriage ended! She has two though. So now 6 kids. Still married though! As one of my friends says they keep getting better with each wife, so he can't wait to meet number 4!
Family rundown:
Lorraine - 3rd wife
Zach - oldest son - in last year of fireman's college
Josh - next oldest son - Customer service rep, going back to school
Ben - next oldest son - working to save up for fireman's college
TJ - Step son...in high school
Luke - My youngest, starts high school in 2005
Jamie - stepdaughter - same as Luke
This is the Coles Notes of my family life!
School
High school was actually a very fun time for me. It still is very present in my mind and memories. There are some classmates I think of almost every day...even some 20-25 years later.
Would I do high school again...yes. But with the knowledge...Expand for more
and personality traits I have now...I wouldn't be quite so shy and a bit of a wallflower.
I wish life was as simple as it was back then..I miss that...I bet most of us miss it.
College
Went to St. Lawrence College in 1980 or 81. Took data processing full time while having one son, and another on the way. Times were tough, but it was the best thing to help out the rest of my life.
32 of us started the course. 12 graduated...and did we ever party afterwards!
Workplace
Jumped around jobs a lot upto college.
After graduating I worked for Emerson Electric in Napanee as Systems Coordinator.
After that, I worked at the Kingston Regional Cancer Centre as Manager of Information Systems.
Got transferred to head office in Toronto as Manager of Corporate Systems for the Ontario Cancer Foundation.
Left there to be the Manager of Computer Services for the Town of Ajax.
After that, I decided to work for myself and opened at bar called "The Puck & Beaver Pub" in Ajax. That lasted until the smoking bylaws came out.
Currently I am still employed in my own company called Spectrum Entertainment Productions. I develop, manage and promote music artists and bands. We actually have our own band, my wife and I, called the Too Drunk to Fish Band. We released to radio last year and are doing it again this year!
