Rob's Story
Applied to Wyoming Auto Tech and was accepted, however when I found out that it would be $19,000.00 for 9 months of school I decided to joine the Marine Corps, as a Hollywood Marine going to bootcamp in San Diego, CA. Then to NAS Millington Memphis TN for Aircraft Crash Fire Rescue school. I served from 89-92 at MCAS El Toro CA, while there I deployed to Utapao Thailand for Thailay Thai "89" as well as serving in Desert Shield/ Storm "90-91" in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
In 1992 I transfered to MCAF Quantico VA and got out in December "94". I stayed in Virginia driving truck until 2000 when a multitude of health problems got in the way and I temporarily moved back to Dubuque, IA to take care of my health and go to school at NICC for a degree in HVAC. Oh yeah I almost forgot, I was married 2 times in all of this as well. The 2nd one was a Lutheran military Coast Guard brat who grew up everywhere and no where all at the same time. We met in Virginia (for Lovers) and I'd like to be able to tell you that sparks flew, we fell in love and lived happily ever after, however, somewhere along the way and after two beautiful princesses for daughters, things fell apart and we ended up going our separate ways. Her & the girls now live in Southern Maryland by her parents and they visit often, but not often enough...if ya know what I mean.....I miss them and wish they were closer so we could spend more time together and I could be there for their school activities and softball and ballet......I've been back to school twice now, the most recent was at Rock Valley College in Rockford, from 05-07 for Building Construction Technology (AutoCAD Design). I'm now looking for a fresh new start in all of life.......How about you?
