Rob's Story
I spent a little over 20 years of my life in the United States Navy. I retired as a Chief Petty Officer in 2007. In my 20 years, I missed many of my family¿s birthdays, school events, band performances, holidays and them in general. I am now a Civil Servant for the Navy and enjoy being home EVERY SINGLE DAY! No more going away and saying good bye.
I met the most beautiful and nicest girl in the world while my first ship was in the ship yard in Boston MA. We were married shortly after and have 4 great kids. We have three boys and one girl. East to West Coast and back again. She has never complained even though she misses Boston and her family. I love her with all my heart and look forward to spending the rest of my life with her.
Jane and I own a RV that we love to spend time in with the kids. We started our RV experiences in 2001 when I came home from the Persian Gulf and we rented a popup. We were hooked and have not looked back. We now have a 33 foot fifth wheel and have it on a semi permanent campsite from April to November in Gloucester, Virginia. I grew up in Arizona, but do not see myself ever living there again. I retired while here in Virginia and figure I will die here someday.
