Rob's Story
My wonderful wife and I live in St. Augustine, FL with our 4 dogs and one cat.
After a tour in the USAF out of high school, I attended Ohio State University, then went out into industry as a mechanical engineer.
I was interested in the space program since 4 years old...got bit by that bug back in '62 at the Seattle World's Fair, so am fortunately, currently working as a mechanical engineer at Kennedy Space Center, FL. I am involved with the Space Launch System scheduled for first launch in 2021. I am also involved in providing various gases to the launch vehicle and Crew Module, as well as the huge swing arms that retract the umbilical hoses and cables at launch. Fun stuff for me...still love being involved in this venture.
So far, life has been a wonderful journey, There have been some great highs and a couple lows, but pretty much all my dreams have been realized and I am content and secure with where I am in my life. Still many things that I would like to do and a long list of projects (engineers tend to be that way!) to complete, but I am doing what I enjoy and have the company of a wonderful woman as my wife. Life is good!
