Robbie's Story
Life
Well alot has changed since I was that brat in Barker Public School, I went on to become a brat at B.B.C.I. and Barrie North. I finally grew up and buckled down when I went to St. Lawrence College in Kingston. There I made some of my best friends in live and got to experience live on my own. It was what I think the turning point in my live (A turn for the better of course). At that point in my life I wanted to be and Animal Care Technologist and help all the poor, unfortunate animals in the world. By second year of College I discovered that I wanted to help animals from a higher level. I discovered Microbiology! Vaccines, Antibiotics, etc.. Ya know. After finishing University (studying microbiology)I worked for a poultry breeding company for two and a half years. Our company was bought out by an American company causing too many changes so I decided to quit and look for another microbiologist's ...Expand for more
position. What I found would change my life dramatically. I became an English Teacher and spent the last three and half years in Japan. What a change! But a great change it was. Living in a foreign country and culture for that long really opens your mind to the world around you. I decided to come back to Canada last summer. Just to spend more time with my family, friends and work in science again. The timing couldn't have been better. About two months after I got back to Canada my Mother fell ill and died of a heart attack. I got to visit her up in ThunderBay after she fell ill. I don't know how I would've handled it if I wasn't here to see her one last time even though I had no idea that it would be the last time.
On a happier note now I'm spending lots of time with my family watching my nephew grow up, I'm back with my cat and I'm living and working in Toronto now. A job taking care of sick animals.
