robert's Story
Robert is from San Francisco, California. He is widowed. His schools include Burbank High School. He later attended Naval Nuclear Power School, Idaho Falls, Id.. He last worked at Aehr Test Systems, Fremont, Ca. While there (17 years) got mad as IBM wanted a complex IC Tester built but Aehr wasn't fast enough so had to work extra without pay - got even by going to Lake Tahoe - CAESAR'S Casino and winning $1,262,882 in Sept. 1990. At NPTU - Idaho Falls was selected as Nuclear Physics and Reactor Instrumentation & ControI Instructor from 1958-1960. Qualified President-to-be Jimmie Carter who was training to be USS NAUTILUS Captain - was then a LCMDR. Went to USS ENTERPRISE for cruise to Cuba (Missile Crisis). Quit USN when confronted with 20 Hbombs and 44 Abombs when unloading from Cuba. Back to CA - helped build and test Rocket boosters for Spaceshuttle (then was Atlas ICBM), then to Fairchild for 17 years as tech. and printed board designer (used crayons to mark layers)...Expand for more
. Fired for complaining about smoker in his office so on to Aehr Test Systems as tech. then computer board designer. Retired at 64 to a townhouse in Silicon Valley, sold out after 3 years at double profit, back to Oklahoma (new wife's home). She died of cancer in 2011. Has a daughter in Ca from a WASP Spanish-Language Schoolteacher - married from 1964 to 1978. Daughter is a diabetic(SOID), caught at 3 years old - 1979.
Robert's idea of fun is playing slot-machines? He likes very fast, sporty cars - owned a 63 Avanti(3b), 92 Stealth,
65 Chevy Corsa(turbo), 67 Pontiac Super S, 87 Honda CRX and 91 Maserati(turbo) Convertible.The Avanti ran to 190 MPH, owned it from 1964-1981. Days at Burbank were fun - putting around on motorscooter - shooting pool during lunch at tacqueria, smoking constantly - getting Band Drunk at Victoria. Getting dates for Cousin in AirForce, Bandera trips with Cousin and Aunt, drinking and dancing to Willie Nelson - where He developed 'echo' music style.
