Robert's Story
Life
Now retired from the military after over 30 years of service. Spent some time living in Virginia near Roanoke and working as a Pathologist at a medical center. Now have moved into medical administration as the Clinical Director of an Indian Health Hospital in Montana.
School
Enjoyed High School, Mr Abraham was an awesome Chem Tech teacher. Took me 13 years to get a four year college degree. Started at RIJC and ended at Troy State in Alabama. Medical School went quicker (only took 5 years, but spent time in court and got custody of my daughter in the middle of that). My goal was (besides graduating of course) was to have a higher GPA than my college and High School ones (I did). Did a couple of years of General Practice Medi...Expand for more
cine in Virginia in the Hampton Roads area and decided to apply for a Pathology residency. I figured being the doctor for the doctor would be a challenge. And boy it was, but well worth all the hard work. It was different being older than most of the rest of the residents but it was cool too since I had already had a life before med school and residency. Went back in Virginia (the western half this time) and really enjoyed the area but, got restless and needed a change so I went into medical administration as the Clinical Director of an Indian Health Service Hospital.
College
Getting to go to Medical School and have the military pay for it all....it is a relief to not have all the debt that some of my friends have since graduating.
