Life
My Spouse
Met Lynn while she attended UNCG. She was completing an education project and interviewed me as a part of her data collection. We collected other data and threw the books out the window.
My Pets
Two Black Labs that go on trail rides with us. We have Four horses for riding and teaching horseback riding.
My Kids
One daughter15, who is a singer, Actor in Little Theater,active in Episcopal Church Youth activities in Western NC. One son,13, who also sings , actor in Little Theater, Wrestler, Baseball, Football. One son ,30, who is married. He is a hunter and fisherman,is in management in Industry.
My Job
Retired from Education - was President of Community College, Superintendent of Schools in three counties, Principal, and Teacher. Now am Director of the McDowell County Partnership for Children.( Programs for At-Risk Kids). Teach Horseback Riding on the side.

ustry..... Thirteen years later - an update on my original profile: My daughter is a psychologist in Belmont, NC. My youngest son teaches English and coaches wrestling and football, while he works toward completion of a Master's Degree in higher education. My wife retired in 2012 as an elementary teacher. I train horses and teach riding as a way to enrich my life. High school was a fog of fun and stress dealing with an alcoholic father. I became a student at the end of my first quarter at Appalachian. I took all the courses I goofed in high school to show myself I could. A friend in high school told me I would never learn Math. I finished all advanced math courses in college. Later I taught English, Math, and Social Science at the secondary level and Sociology and curriculum strategy classes to doctoral students. I thank a great mother for support. It is possible that you can learn strength by watching someone lead a weak and shallow life. A good mother is all you need. Retirement is only a word.... RMB
