Dear Friends and Colleagues As many of you know, I ran the Boston marathon (my first) this past April 15. An absolutely insane idea driven among other reasons by the South Boston Neighborhood House, one of our largest and most responsive local charities. For many of you that reached out in the short hours after the bombing with expression of support, concern and care, thank you. Thank you for your generosity and the expressions of concern for my family, our neighborhood families, the runners and for our whole community here in Boston. The run, the aches and pains pale in relation to what lies ahead for the families and friends who lost loved ones and with those who face a long term recovery. We pray for the healing. For me, the minor frustration of falling off pace turned into a bit of grace when it prompted my family to delay their arrival at the finish line by 30 minutes, missing the incident by just that much. Some were not as fortunate including one of our very own South Boston Neighborhood House families. We are there to help. For the record, my race ended at Mile 24.
