Robert's Story
If anyone actually remembers me from high school, they probably remember the skinny, crazy kid with glasses and WAY too much energy who was in the Ray High Band. I stayed skinny and energetic for a while, but being married in 1978 to the wonderful woman my mother introduced me to, at MY request, in 1977 seemed to add pounds, for some reason.
With her help, I finally finished college and even got an MS in Toxicology. I went to work for the Air Force at Brooks AFB in San Antonio as a Forensic Toxicologist.
However, life can throw some real curve balls at you and after working there for eight years, I was forced to retire on disability because of health problems.

d continues to support me. I love her very much and we are approaching our 30th wedding anniversary this year - 2008.
Being retired has been a blessing in some ways because it gave me extra time to spend with my children during their high school years and allowed me to get to know them better than most fathers are able to know their children at that age.
At this point in my life, I am very different from the person that most people knew during high school, in some ways, because I am much calmer and more stable, but I have not lost many of the traits that made me the individual that I was then.
Lately, I have discovered a NEED to write, so maybe I will surprise myself and everyone else by someday producing a "great American Novel." LOLOL!
