Robert's Story
Life
Well we've moved away from Manassas Park and now live in Muncie, Indiana. Although... at this moment in time... you might say... I live all over the U.S.... see my work for more details.
School
What do I miss most? I'd have to say all the fun we had in Concert Choir and Madrigals. I still remember the threats I got from Bill Malcolm when my voice changed and I went from tenor to baritone just before we did Handel's Messiah. BOY was he PISSED!! LOL!!! But seriously... does anyone know where Bill is today? I'd love to touch base with him. Would also like very much to touch base with Vanessa Gray, so if anyone knows how I can contact either... please let me know.
Workplace
I work as an Independent Contractor, driving OTR or Over The Road, for an Expediting Company. That's where the "I live all over the U.S." comes from... I live in a truck, I travel 10,000 miles or more per month all over the country delivering freight from point "A" to point "B". I own a 2005 Freightliner M2 Business Class truck and get to do lot's of si...Expand for more
ght seeing as I travel our nations highways and byways and I am thoroughly enjoying myself.
Military
I became an AT1 that's Avionics Tech 1st class for you land lubbers. ;-) I was assigned to the aircraft carrier CVN 69 also known as the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower as an I level technician. That meant that I spent most of my time below on the hangar deck in the shop. But I got to spend a fair amount of time on the flight deck. There is just nothing quite like watching night operations on a carrier flight deck. My fondest memories? It's a split between getting to see a lot of new places and ports in the Med and Persian Gulf and getting to ground a smart assed Lt. Cmdr. for turning his plane in with the following problem. "IFF does not work in the OFF position." For those that don't know, IFF stands for Identification Friend or Foe and MOST things aren't supposed to work in the OFF position! I kept him grounded for 3 days while I "researched" his problem. Pilots HATE being grounded!! Spent the better part of those 3 days ROFLMFAO!!
