ROBERT's Story

Graduated University of Illinois Champaign/Urbana in 1969. Taught high school 1969 - 1973. Started work for Union Carbide in Chicago in 1974. Married Lynda in 1976. Transferred with Union Carbide to Cleveland area in 1984. Daughter Claire was born in 1984. Business went through several changes of name/ownership from 1986 - 2007 : Union Carbide/Praxair/Advanced Ceramics Corp/General Electric - Quartz/Momentive Performance Materials. Momentive in 2009. Moved to Ocala FL, where sister Shirley (AHS 1965) and brother-in-law Jim Moellentine (AHS 1964) live, in 2017. Lynda passed away in 2019. Moved back to Strongsville in June 2020. Shirley and Jim moved here also in November 2020. Jim and I rode motorcycles together, including multi-day road trips, every year until Jim passed away on July 8 2024. I will really miss Jim , but will continue riding until no longer able to do so.
