Robert's Story
Life
I graduated from Sousa to go on to Phelps Voc. High School. After High school, I spent 4 years in the Navy on two different ships. I served on the USS DAVIS DD-937 and after Radioman school, I was stationed on the USS DONNER LSD-20 at Little Creek, VA. After the service, I settled in Maryland and worked in the Federal government for over 38 years, of which 25 were in Law Enforcement. I am married and my wife, Clarrissa, from Anacostia High and I have two children (a son and daughter) and two grandchildren. I still remember a lot of my school mates from Sousa and especially the principal, Mrs. McAuliff. I remember her showing the film of her brother's war experience every year I was there and his famous reply during WWII to the German's demand for his surrender. School
My biggest crush was M.L. The teacher who inspired me the most was Mrs Howard. The major event of my Middle School years was breaking my arm on the basketball court during lunch recess in the 8th grade. I broke my right arm and since I am right handed, I got out of a lot of assignments for 7 weeks......
