Robert's Story

LIFE ME I'm enjoying playing golf, trout and bass fishing, shooting black powder and hunting, primarily with bow and arrow as I have done for over 55 years, but now with a flintlock Kentucky Rifle and a 444 Marlin or .45-70 Govt. with heavy Express hand loads similar to those used for Bison hunting in the old West. · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · The downside to all of this is that I got Lyme disease last summer...we are overrun with deer and wild turkey MY KIDS My daughter, HEATHER, Has been a cardiac R.N. at Newton Memorial Hospital in Newton, NJ for 14 years and works at an "alternative health" MD's office, treating HIV and hepatitis patients blood with ultraviolet rays (German technology only seen in the US here and California) and peroxide among other things. Her ex-husband is a paramedic who saved my life in a heart attack 7 years ago. She and her NEW HUSBAND own the house right next door out here in the Delaware State Forest. She hates it. She's a Manhattan Model city girl at heart (where did I fail)? Anyway, Jay Kostrowski is now her HUSBAND. He gave Heather a big chunk of that form of pure carbon women love so much on top of Mt. Haleakala last fall (Sept. '07) and they married on the beach at Kaanapali Sept. '08. Update: Heather now works in the Oncology unit at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, NJ as well as the MD's office in Stockton. My son, JOHN, Worked as an Exercise Physiologist and Cardiac Rehab Physiologist at St. Barnabas hospital in Livingston, NJ. He is now a police officer for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg, NC force and was able to build a 4 bed 3 bath house in North Carolina which he could not possibly have done in NJ, even though he was making more money. John just got married to a New Jersey gal who was a transposed Texan and still a Texan at heart. Her late father was a sports writer for the AP, which brought him to New York before he retired. Her mom has sold their place in NJ and gone to Austin and will probably end up back in Corpus Christi, but recently bought a place on Lake Norman to be near John and Beth. Update: John and Beth are expecting our first grandchild. You can see the sonogram on Facebook. Update: Planning a funeral for a grand child that died one day before she was to be born. Monday, August 3, 2009 at 5:48pm. We lost our angel Kathlyn Joy Davis before she had a chance to bless this earth. She was born into the arms of Jesus on July 30, 2009, and we still don't know why, and maybe never will. She was 7lb, 1 oz, 20 inches, with blue eyes like Daddy and dark hair like Mommy. The wake will start at 6pm on Friday, August 7 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord, NC - 460 Branchview Drive NE. The funeral is at the same location, Saturday, August 8 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Rocky River Church Building Fund, PO Box 68, Harrisburg, NC, 28075, in Memory of Kathlyn Joy. My NEPHEW and NIECE ERIC is now married to a wonderful young woman. They built a house in Saginaw, MI. They had a daughter, Ava and made...Expand for more
me a great uncle. He is now working in the DOW Corning Plant in Midland where I started! (another Dow Corning employee in the family!) My niece JENNIFER, has decided she is never having "kids". She may not even get married. However, she Just graduated from Saginaw Valley University with honors and has been accepted into the biology department at Michigan State University. Her real love is the Big Cats but her thesis was on the effects of the breakdown products of PTFE (generic Teflon) on fruit flies at double the concentration found in 95% of all humans around the globe. The results are scary. She was going to start with 10x, 5x and then 2x concentrations, but the other groups never even survived one day, let alone a generation. Last summer ('08) she is working with the BIG cats at the Toronto Zoo. Back to MSU grad school this fall. SPOUSE Met at Alma College, in cafeteria line. After publishing her father's book The Yarn of the Mitten (an historical novel about real people in Michigan affected by the settling, trapping, then farming, clearcutting the giant White Pines and the Civil War), LORRAINE is now concentrating on her love of writing poetry. MY PETS. I have fostered and adopted out about a dozen Bengal cats (NY-NJ-PA Bengal Rescue Inc Regional Co-ordinator) some Manx cats and a 6 yo pure white Turkish Van For myself, I have a beautiful 11 yo B&W Manx Panda pattern rescue boy, ZEUS, a 4 yo Champ Marble Bengal/Champ Silver Persian mix (hence just a moggie) boy, PETOSKEY and a 7 yo Bengal mix girl rescue, ANNABELLE, who gave me 5 Bengal mix kittens, all adopted out. The Manx are like puppys, but the Bengal Mix is a handful! She follows me WHEREEVER I go and butts her nose into everything you do to see if she can help! Petoskey and his mom were growing up with Arctic and Grey wolves here in PA. I thought I was just rescuing the Mom, Rapture of Constellation...! WORKPLACE The last BASF plant I worked at was imploded, cleaned up and property sold as had been the case with our operation in Canada. The Germans moved all operations to Mexico.
