Robert's Story
I live in Cheyenne Wyoming and have been retired for several years. After the military, I moved down to southern California where I met my wife, Claire in 1978. We are still together and I am so fortunate for that. We left California for Wyoming in 1997. First we lived in the small town of Rawlins which reminded me of Mayberry. I remember shortly after we moved there that a car was vandalized and the story made front page news. Rawlins was ok but the nearest larger town was over 100 miles away. South City, but we still have to drive a minimum of 50 miles to the next large town. My employment was exclusively blue collar in the field of mechanics and as a hobby, I still do mechanical things. I have 3 old Harley-Davidson motorcycles that keep my tools from ever getting rusty. There are lots of nice places to ride around here and most of the time, there is no traffic, no smog, and no bugs. I do miss the California of the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s, and I’ve tried going back, but I just don’t fit there anymore. My favorite topic is the Bible and my next favorite is old Harleys. That’s about it for now.
