Robert's Story

Bonnie and I will be celebrating 35 years together - 32 years married - this summer of 2013 - she's a Living Doll, and I'm lucky to have her! I have been a "business guy" for about 29 years - after undergrad B-School, a career at Arthur Andersen & Co. / Andersen Consulting, 20 years as a CIO and company turnaround-guy, and graduate B-school at Kellogg. All that can be found on LinkedIn. Still love to play electric guitar, as I did in rock bands in high school and undergraduate college - but pretty much just play-around at the house whenever I can - have a great, small collection of guitars and - of course - vintage Marshall amps (always loved Marshall amps - the amp is the thing . . . ). Loved my days in Wild Rose and still consider 'em to be one of the best times in my life - and so glad to have had the privilege of being there with our wonderful classmates. Who knows, maybe some day Bon and I will move back there and enjoy that area again - that means so much to both her and me. And Wild Rose HIgh School was when my parents moved our family up to that area in Central Wisconsin, from Milwaukee, where I went to Catholic Grade School at the old St. Agnes Parish at 25th and Capitol Drive in Milwaukee (NOT the current St. Agnes in Butler - a suburb of Milwaukee). The old St. Agnes is gone - the church is called All Saints, now, combined several parishes into one; and the Catholic grade school there is no more. But in those days I went to St. Agnes for 9 years...Expand for more
- Kindergarten thru when I graduated 8th Grade in 1974, and we moved to Wild Rose for my parent's campgrounds and resort business. I can't say enough thanks, appreciation and admiration for all the wonderful teachers, priests and nuns at St. Agnes who gave me so much in my life, including: - Monsignor Belda, - Father Straub, - Father Kohler, - Father Elverman, - Sister Paula Fergen, - Sister Florence Deacon, - Sister Adrian Walsh, - Sister Rita Schlumpberger, - Mr. Weissan, - Mrs. Rekob, and - so many others. In those days, starting in the 1st Grade (after Kindergarten, when we were too young . . . ) we went to Mass EVERY DAY before school started. Little Sister Paula played that huge pipe organ every day in that massive church, and it was WONDERFUL - like the big, warm embrace of God. She was a phenomenal musician. So that had a big effect on my life, and I'm grateful. And I must have served hundreds of Masses as an Alter Boy and always had the best experiences with the priests, nuns and teachers at St. Agnes. It was THE BEST way for a young boy or girl to get educated and get values that carry you through your whole life. Bonnie and I keep a modest house up in the Reno/Tahoe area - for the past 10 years, and I travel extensively in my business. We're very grateful to still have a loving, fun marriage after all these years. And are thankful for the people who have positively influenced our lives. All the Best to you and yours. Cheers!
