Robert's Story
Life
After graduation I went to Rutgers for 3 semesters, but I hated it. My grandfather got out of the hospital in late 1989 after an extended stay, so I took that as a sign that I should leave Rutgers to take care of him. I did that until he passed away in late 1990. In 1991 I went to Middlesex County College for 2 years and got an Associate's degree, I think. I don't remember what it was called. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but now, meh. Also in 1991 my dad close up his bakery (hooray!) and I went to work in a low paying retail job.
After a year there I realized how much I missed baking. I went back to it and finally found my dream job in 2001. I love doing what I do and my bosses treat me very well, and I get pretty good money for it. But of course I spend it.
I got married to Sarah, my soul mate from Flemington, in 1994. We lived in an apartment in North Plainfield for 4 years before we relocated to Delaware. We just could not afford a house in New Jersey. We built our house in 1999 and have been here ever since, and we're staying put. We've seen our little town grow from around 600 people to over a thousand since then. It's not exactly the hub of the univ...Expand for more
erse, but we love it. I would much rather smell cow poop than refineries, thank you.
We don't have any kids, and we don't want any. It took us awhile to come to that conclusion, but there it is. We have a pit bull named Niffler, and a few cats, named Sunny, Jr. Bunk, Winnie, Daredevil (Cat Without Fear), Bailey, Melon, and Hedwig. We were doing cat rescue for awhile, and some of these are leftovers from that. :)
Sarah and I like to travel around the US when we go on vacations. We enjoy flea markets and diners, and we usually plan our trips around them. I still listen to a lot of music, but I don't play anymore, at least not with the regularity that I did in high school. We went through a comic and toy collecting phase, but most of the toys are gone now, and the comic purge should happen this summer. I also collect old video games and a few current ones. I have over 1000 games and the master bedroom is dedicated to them and all my CDs, records and tapes. Don't worry, Sarah has her own room to do scrapbooking and other crafts she enjoys.
Well, you're probably bored to tears at this point. Perhaps I will see you in 2008, and then I can bore you to tears in person! Hoo-hah!
