Robert's Story

Life Hi all! Where have all the years gone? I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. Anne (my wife of 33 years) and I retired after living and teaching on Cape Cod for 30 years. We now live in Dalton in the Berkshire hills of western Massachusetts. Our two sons, Jim and Mike, both live and work in the Boston area so we do get to visit the metropolis once in a while. We've bought an older house and are spending our time and our kids inheritance creating our dream home. It will always be a work in progress. We love to travel and go as often as we can. t was Virginia, the Dominican Republic, Florida, Bermuda, England, and Ireland. This year it's to be the Cayman Islands, Cozumel, and Key West on a cruise; then to the Baltic capitals on another cruise. The fall will take us to Italy again. Retirement is awesome! The only drawback is there is never a day off or a vacation, no snow days either. We don't miss the cape for a second. Anne has family here and we've reconnected with old friends. I do miss some of my friends from school and try to stay in touch. Would love to hear from old friends and new ones, too.

The wind has taken the top off the lamp post. Blowing and drifting makes it hard to tell how much snow has fallen. We've had micro-bursts where the white out conditions made it impossible to see the cars in the driveway.
My wonderful neighbor shoveled the walk and did the driveway about an hour ago, The walkway has drifted in , not sure about hte driveway, can't see it without going outdoors and I have no intention of doing that.

Today is my little boy's birthday. It doesn't matter that he is 34, he's still my little boy. Happy Birthday to one of the kindest, gentlest people I know, our own Mikey.
In trying to keep up with those who lke to post pictures of food; while working in the kitchen I was inspired to create this latest work of art. it is titled: " Mildewed Spaghetti". If you thought "Mildewed Fettucini"
