Robert's Story
Life
Well, a lot has happened in the last ten years since I graduated from SHS. I'm not quite sure the best way to go through them all. I could just list them, I could write a long, detailed story, or I could just go somewhere in between.
Well, as many of you may remember, I ran for school committee while in my sophomore year at Harvard. Although I lost, I learned some very important lessons while on the capmaign trail. The most important of which was that I was unwilling to lie about who I was. That said, I came out of the closet in the spring of 1992.
Since then, I have lived happily and openly as a gay man. In the last five years, I have:
-Graduated From Harvard with a Government Degree;
-Went to work for world-wide consumer products conglomerate, Procter & Gamble;
-Left P&G to work in the non-profit world, where I now serve as Vice President of one of America's fastest growing organizations, Jumpstart;
-Been the father to a wonderful (now nine year old) boy, Connor
-Spent the last seven years with a great man, Brian, Connor's biological dad, and a brilliant teacher at a prestigious private HS.
-And lost 100+ pounds to weigh less than I did in High School.

Well, that's about it for now. If you want to know more, you'll just have to contact me!
College
Well, Went to Harvard. Spend a lot more time off campus doing community service stuff. Took a year off after running for School Committee and worked on a whole bunch of things -- including Bill Clinton's campaign. Graduated with a degree in Government.
Workplace
Well, for the forst 2.5 years out of college, I worked in Sales and Marketing at the world-wide consumer products company, Procter & Gamble. You probably know them as the makers of Tide, Pringles, Bounty, Charmin, Pampers, etc.
After that, I needed to get into work that was making a real difference to others. If any of you remember by time in High School, I did a lot of community service and politcially related work. Well, since 1998, I've worked for a fast-growing national non-profit organization called Jumpstart. We pair college students with children who are struggling in preschool. While my jobs here have been many, I have settled down to become the Vice President for Business Development and Government Relations -- Overseeing growth and Public Policy.
