Robert's Story
It's been a long time since graduation in 1983. Doesn't really seem like 27 years has passed to me, does it to you???
I can still remember a foggy morning in December 1980, walking to Mr. Bitner's art class at Monache, when I heard a girl screaming, "Oh my God! they shot John Lennon!!!" I remember that like it was yesterday and it doesn't really seem that long ago.
I had a dark green 1969 Dodge Charger in high school. I was a car nut and hung around with Bill Bushey, Eric and Dale Kittrell, Jerry Sprague, Brad Johnson, Jeff Baranek, Rick Davis, Jackie Silva, Randy Avila, Joe Duran, Bob Gerdes, Russell Silva and Abel Contreras....Expand for more
I got into auto racing after graduation and moved down to Orange County to pursue that as a career for several years. I also worked as a studio musician for a few years, which I really enjoyed a lot.
When I returned to the Central Valley in 1990, there just wasn't a living to be made doing those things anymore. I went to the police academy in 1992 and have worked in law enforcement ever since. I also served 6 years in the U.S. Navy as a Counter-Terrorism/Force Protection Specialist.
So, I retired from law enforcement in March of 2011, moved to Miami Beach Florida in 2012 and eventually settled in Palm Springs, California...
