Robert's Story
Life
I have been married for 45 years and have 4 children. I also have 9 grandchildren . I was in the Army for nine years and have worked for the federal government from 1977 to present. I have been with Customs now Customs and Border Protection that entire time. I am currently the financial advisor for the Boston Field Office. After 27 years in Quincy I now live in Halifax, MA near the Bridgewater line. Since last updated, I stayed with CBP but was a Program Management Analyst for Headquarters in Washington DC stationed out of the O'Neill Bldg in Boston. Spent most of my career travelling aound New England and the rest of the US. I retired in Jan 2010 after almost 42 yrs federal service due to my wife's illness. us in Hanson, MA while my son lives in Kennebunc, ME. My middle two daughters both live near Atlanta GA.. I am staying busy by volunteering at Brockton Hospital and also as an Ombudsman for South Shore Elder Services.
Military
I entered the Army in June 1968 and after training at Ft Dix and Ft Lee was assigned to a light equipment maintenance unit in the Mekong Delta in Viet Nam. After a year there I was assigned to Ft Bragg, NC where I was married and reenlisted for 6 years. After 2 years there I was assigned to US Army Japan in Camp Zama which is about 26 miles south of Tokyo. My wife and I spent three years there and that was where my first child was born. Upon return I spent time at Ft Dix this time as permanent party with the 3d Basic Combat Training Brigade and my final assignment was with G3 III Corps at Ft Hood Texas
