Robert Knecht:  

Life I lived on East 32nd Street, between Glenwood and Farragut Road in my early years. Went to PS 89, Huddie Jr. High, and Midwood. When I married Betty Gennuso in 1965 we lived in an apartment on East 29th Street for two years and then bought a house in the Midwood Park section of Brooklyn. In 1976 we moved to Bellmore, Long Island where we still are. Betty and I have three children, two are married, (Jim & Lori) one, Rich, still lives at home with us. I used to work in the candy store on Glenwood Road off Nostrand, right next to the Drug Store and "Jimmy's" Grocery store. Took Communications, Advertising, Layout and Design,Typography, Business and Management. Also went to New York Employment and Printing school and SVA to learn Layout and the history of Type and Printing, which I used throughout my career in advertising. I was a Type Director and later on a Studio Manager at Benton & Bowles in New York City from 1960 until I retired in 1999, it was a great place to work and...Expand for more
