Robert's Story
Hmm, well, I graduated from Hug High in Reno, arm pit of the world. Then I went to the University of Nevada Reno, a nice university (translate: loads of available and beautiful women, yeehaa!) I dropped out part way through my 2nd year because I had no money and didn't like Chemistry (my major). I worked in manufacturing for 3 years, bought a bass (still own it) and started playing music. After 3 years of breathing toxic fumes all day, I had become a bit of a ditz, so I left and started playing music (aka, starving) full time. I did this for, I think 5 years, after which I went back to college as a music composition major. I played bass in college for a while, then switched to sax. After 4 years, I switched to math (I know, I wander all over!) and got my BA after 3 more years. Then it was off to Grad school and a lot of hard studying.
After getting a PhD in math in 2000 (yeh, time just flew by--there goes my life!) I got a position as a professor at the University of Guam (don't ask why. It seemed like it would be fun). Four years later I left there and came to Ohio University-Chillicothe, which sucks real hard. I've been trying to get into a better school eve...Expand for more
r since.
So, where is the personal life? Well, there isn't much of one. I got married for 4 years, sort of. Long story. Look up Psychopathy, seriously. I need to be more selective!! Got that annulled, because I am a frickin genius, ha! It was easier than a divorce. She disappeared (yeah!), but I am still close with part of her family. I care about her, but she is dangerous, so the further away she is the better. No kids, sob. I've always wanted two girls. No idea why, just do.
I write songs, mostly sappy love songs, but people like them. I love teaching and like doing research when I want to relax. I'm a geometer, or so I'm told.
I don't like TV much, sucks me in. I don't play videos and I don't have a cell phone. I guess that makes me a bit of a freak these days. Or maybe I'm just me.
I used to travel a lot. I might do some more sometime in the next couple of years. I've been to Italy, Canada (ooo!), Mexico (Puerta Vallarta), Italy, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Macau, Guam (lived there), the CNMI (Northern Mariana Islands) several times, the Philippines (about 8 times), and China twice. I like Asia and the Pacific, what can I say?
Had enough? Cool.
