Robert L.'s Story
Life
After H.S. I worked for Cad.-Olds Boston until 54. Then I jointed the U. S. Marines and got out in 58. I was a Helicopter Mechanic in the Marines and was station in Calif. & Japan. The 4 years in the Marines I'll always remember as one of my best times on this here earth. Met great friends some of which I am still in touch with. In 58 I went back to work at Cad-Olds until Aug 60. Then I went in the Air Force until Aug. 63. Got out & went back to Cad-Olds where I met my wife Barbara. We were married in 66. We had 4 children Mark, Cathy, Brian & Debra. I also have 5 Grand Kids as of now. Left Cad-Olds(New England Automotive Dist.) in the Fall of 77 and went to work for W.J. til 97. Retire and went for a visit to my old company in 99 & the boss ask me if I would come back to work as he need me. So after 2 years of retirement I'm back working & seem to enjoy it more this time. Will work until I don't feel like it anymore. My 2 girls are both married, but my 2 sons are still single And it doesn't look like they will. I have live in Tewksbury, MA since 1966. Well I finely decided to end my work years at 75 this Sept 2006. Been working since I was 14 as a dishwasher & busboy (50 cents/hour) at Pajacks Rest. in Hyde Park after school & weekends Mondays off. 6 day weeks back in them days. I'll have to find something to do in my remaining years that I have left. A lot I hope.
