Life
Born Chicago, lived in Englewood with grandparents, 227 W. 61st Place, 1947, moved to St. Pete FL, Lived on a 44ft yawl, "Malabar II", then at 555 w. 10th Ave S, then on 13th Ave S. Dad had a boatbuilding shop. Then Marietta GA, 1880 Claymore Dr. Back and forth to Chicago. Elementary school friends were (I can't remember everyone) Bobby Leeny and Jimmy Quinn in Chicago; Eric Lier, Bobby Kelly, Johnny Simpson, and Jimmy Sackett in St. Pete; Jeff Elliott, Don Hulsey, Frank and Tom McCallister, Tom and Duke Hasty, George Doerr, Jimmy Satterfirld, Robert Clute, and "Chip" Manuel in Marietta ,GA. HS friends at Westcott were George Weitemeyer, Don Grady, Lyall Walerstadt, Jimmy Delesandro (Dilly), Nick Yasillo, Ed Fine, Charles Maniates, and At Lane, Fred Forster, Tom Franke, Jeff Winters (deceased) Was patrol boy at 61st Place and Princeton Ave. Changing neighborhood and Dan Ryan construction resulted in going to north side of Chicago halfway thru HS in 1957, from Westcott to Lane Tech. Address was 1321 W. Winnemac Ave, then 5009 N. Glenwood in 1966 after Army, then to 1237 W. Granville.
RR Donnelley $ Sons on 22nd Street. 1971-1973 Colorado, working various stuff, the Georgetown Loop railroad, the Belvidere Theatre in Central City as a projectionist, the Central City dump, Keystone Ski Area, Albertson electric in Silverthorne. 1974 - 1977, Noble Printing in Hubbard Woods, IL. Got drafted 1966-1968 US Army. Basic in Ft. Knox, KY. AIT at Ft. Sill,OK.(Artillery) and remaining time at Ft. Carson, CO, People I remember are Bill Roland, Charles Turner, Did reserve summer camp at the Badlands in SD in 1968, Camp Ripley in WI in 1969. Recieved my draft notice the same time the Beatles first appeared in the USA on the Ed Sullivan Show LOL
School
Favorite teacher, MR Connors, english teacher at Lane Tech. Made a boring subject interesting to all of us.
Wake up experience next year, MR Sotter, flunked 3/4 of the class first marking period.
Pine Forest elementary in Marietta, 5th grade 1953. Mrs. Ensley had Bible reading and prayer sessions in public schools.
Lane, strict health codes required boys (all boy school) to swim with no trunks. Common practice in those days at the YMCA and boy's clubs.
College

Military
Made a lot of friends in the Denver area. Was "adopted" by the family of William Roland. Ended up returning to CO for a few years. Working on steam locomotives in Central City and Georgetown Loop, setting the stage for a 22 year career as a stationary engineer for the Chicago Public schools. Friends were the Roland family, Danny Mcguiness, played guitar art several places, several girlfriends.
