Robert's Story
Hello, I'm Bob Lewis. I am the Interim Program Director for the MBA Program at Norwich University.
I am a native of Woodbridge, New Jersey, which makes me a "Flatlander" here in the Green Mountains.
It takes a while to become simply a local. Native Vermonters are the ones whose great-great-grandparents bought their farm supplies from ol' Ethan Allen himself. (As for me I'm not sure if the country my great-great-grandparents were born in still exists, much less if it was hilly or flat. However, these things seen to be important to some.)
I live with Anne Crump, the woman I took to the WHS high school prom. We share forty acres with our dog, Mira, two hand-me-down cats and the usual crew of critters in the woods.
As for free time pursuits, sailing was the way I occupied myself. I have sailed all ...Expand for more
over Europe and United States. At the moment most of that free time stuff is devoted to keeping the pond full of water and the moose out of the garden.
This is the simple life. I love everything about Vermont. I am grateful to be in a place that, to quote the John Denver song, is like "coming home to a place I've never been before."
As for my professional life, I was a "Road Warrior" as a generalist international management consultant for thirty years before settling down. Assignments required a mix of strategic and tactical skills that I acquired during my own studies and the enormous variety of real life experiences I got just doing my job everyday.
It is a privilege to be a part of the Norwich University staff and to contribute, in my own way, to the education of a new generation of managers.
