Robert's Story
Life
First the earth cooled. Then the dinosaurs came, but they died. I was born not too long after. I died two years ago, but managed to recover. It was shocking, I tell you, shocking. My B.S. threshold has been pretty close to zero ever since. There were no white lights, soothing voices, or 47 Islamic virgins in an oasis. Sorry for the news.
My wife and I have done a lot of traveling. Spain, Portugal, France, England, Italy, Holland, Luxembourg, Belgium, and places in between. I have been to Singapore, Japan, Israel, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Norway, and other exotic places. I speak four languages well enough to converse and pieces of seven others. I can say "My lips are caught in the elevator door" in 14 languages. I have about 30 gigabytes of digital photos that I will never finish editing.

n by a Finnish student whom I have met, Linus Torvalds. I expect to sell a few of them to the other geeks. "Building Clustered Linux Systems" is the title. No, they are not mongolian clusters.
I met my wife, Teri, through "Great Expectations." She avoided the "all men are pigs" attitude that prevails in those services and picked me out of a video-dating mug book. I said yes, and the restaurant had to throw us out on our first date. It took about three months to know that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. Convincing her mother took another year (the quote was "he doesn't even own his own car!" -- true until you consider that I had a *free* company car) it was down hill from there. Sheesh.
We have been in Sherwood, Oregon for going on eleven years with Teri's cats -- I don't claim them and they don't claim me. Who really deludes themselves about "owning" a cat, anyway? Ha. Bwahahahaha.
