Robert's Story
After grad in 6T8, did an internship at Hosp. for Sick Children, Toronto.
1969 marriage to Louise in Richmond Hill Ontario, buried my Dad 2 weeks later.
1969-71 spent with the above hospital Sioux Lookout externship program at Sioux Lookout as the zone coordinator for the dental needs of the program.
1971 to 1995 engaged in general practice dentistry in Thunder Bay and lived for a time at 114 Winnipeg Ave., then moving to 791 Hilldale Road in the country where we built a home in 1973-4.
We raised 2 children and we now have 2 grandchildren living on a farm in Thunder Bay area with my daughter and son in law.
We also had a teen living with us for some of the 1980s.
Summers 1973 to 1981 were spent at our cottage on Hawkeye Lake and from 1981 to 1996 we cottaged at Amethyst Harbour on Thunder Bay, Lake Superior.
1996 to present we have resided at Amethyst Harbour about 4 lots down from our old cottage.
About 1994 my hearing began to degenerate and I sold the practice in 1995 because the profoun...Expand for more
d hearing loss interfered too much with communication.
Empty nesters,we live with 2 rescued Chesapeake Bay retrievers who like to think they rule the roost. Throughout our married life we have always had both cats and dogs but we are now w/o cats because our grandson is allergic.
Louise has a year left in her teaching career before retirement and she has a rambunctious grade 2/3 split class. Fortunately the school is only a short distance away from Amethyst.
We golf, boat/fish, try and grow things that do not belong in this temperate zone, and enjoy our friends.Winter finds me involved in family history research, the search for roots and heritage.

PS I forgot to mention that we had a big influence on 2 brothers from Gull Bay Reserve who lived with us for a time during the early 70s here in Thunder Bay. We are happy to say they went on to get a good education and we are friends to this day with that family.
UPDATE 2013: Louise has now been retired for over a year. She likes the freedom.
