Robert's Story
Life
so you are wondering - "who the heck is Robert Michaels? I do not remember that name in the class of '69." Well, it was not there. Back then you would have known Bobby Chitty. No dount you understand the new moniker. It started in '78 in college. I was starting as a radio announcer, and the GM asked what name I was going to use - obviously saying pick something else. Rob Michaels was born. Chris and I liked the sound, and paid for the legal change. Never went back.
On with the story.
In High School they laughed at my love for one Chris Flitton. I was smitten by her in the 9th grade in Mr. Costulis' home room. She knocked me out in that navy a-line skirt and yellow agner blouse with her platinum hair. A thing of beauty. After chasing her for a few years, she married me in 1973, and today we live in Brentwood TN on a ridge overlooking greater Nashville after more than 35 years together.
Our daughter Hollyn is a graduate student at Wheaton College studying Psychology and our son D.J. graduates University of Tennessee this year and gets married this summer.
College
My college education began with 3 days at Tidewater Community College in Portsmouth, after which I quit. Later I completed a semester at Old Dominion and a quarter at Tidewater Community College Va. Beach campus (how I do not know - surfing was more important at the time). After leaving law enforcement in '78, I went to Columbia Bible College (Interntional University now) for my B.S. in Biblical Education, and then went to Wheaton Graduate School for a M.A. in Communicaitons with a double major in marketing and interpersonal communications

Sears and Penneys. Retail was not my thing. In '73, I joined the Norfolk Police Department, serving in uniform 2 years, and in the detective bureau for three more years. when I left for college, I became an announcer at WMHK Radio in Columbia SC for 4 years. While in Grad School, I worked at two ad agencies, Domain Communications and Phoenix Marketing Group. during this time and since, I've done a good bit of speaking.
In 1985, I became VP of Marketing for Benson Records. I opened my own marketing and management company in 1987, still operating Lord & Michaels Entertainment today. Artists I have represented include Deniece Williams, Mariah Carey, Johnny Cash, Noel Paul Stookey, DC Talk, Newsboys, DeGarmo & Key, and more, earning 24 Gold and Platinum records for my service. I have many videos from bands I've represented at YouTube under RobMichaels.
For 6 years I managed and developed a career for former Mafia Captain Michael Franzese, author of "Blood Covenant."
I have spent 25 years in the Christian music business, and work with Newsboys directing strategic partnerships. In 2007, Newsboys launched the US version of Global Tribe, founded in 1992 by Anthony Walton. I am the Executive Director for Global Tribe, based in Brentwood, TN.
I also represent former New Orleans Police Officer Robert Davis. He escaped prosecution and lived in the woods 22 years, turned his life around and surrendered. He authored CopOut, and his YouTube site, CopoutRLD.
I am currently writing a book, Recalculating Route, about God's navigation of one's life through people, circumstances, and His own direction.
